who is this character?
this is beagle, a digimon-stylized, bipedal dog.
this character was conceived around the time a discussion about fursonas came about between some friends and i. curious as to what i would look like as one, i conceptualized this idea for days with the intention of it never being a finished piece, thus why the character has and will always be updated to carry all of my scars.while i dearly love the character, the concept of this being "me" never stuck as i still view beagle as a separate entity. if anything, she's more of a mascot that i consistently commission art for.the decision to have her stylized as a digimon stems from my undying love for the franchise. the blondish fur is from my blonde hair, and the purple markings are simply because purple is my favorite color. the beagle aspect is because beagles are my favorite dog breed. the back of the character is designed to mimic the saddle of my first beagle as homage. the intention of the collar is to act as a name tag but designed around the theme of a dog.she's usually illustrated short, chunky, and jovial. the only scars i truly give a shit about being drawn are the unilateral lip scar and the ear scar as they are iconic of the character.there was a period where i accidentally got a scar location wrong because i constantly forget that i need to mirror their placements and had some artwork commissioned that depicted the scar in the wrong place. oh well, lol.oh yeah, i also first conceptualized beagle to have leg ticking, and then promptly removed it months later as it didn't feel right to the character. however, the choice to remove the ticking had come after the fact some pieces were already commissioned with the ticking. oops! anyways, i'm pretty happy with how beagle looks now.
